Waters Edge in the Pink

Staff and residents from Waters Edge Care Home in Great Wyrley will be wearing it pink to support and raise money for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place on Friday 20 October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for Breast Cancer Now.

Many of the residents and staff at the Care Home which specialises in residential dementia care have been affected by breast cancer and so it was important for the home to get involved with Wear it Pink day.

The Breast Cancer Now charity have been raising money and raising awareness since the first event in 2002 and have raised over £30 million for our life-saving research. Research that’s working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking lives.
